Dubbed as one of “electronica’s shining lights” in 2007 by KARMA Magazine, DJ Syrena has been rocking dancefloors in the U.S. and internationally since late 1999. A consummate beat mixer who cut her own groove in the pulsating energy of the Los Angeles nightlife scene, Syrena’s sound is bold, sexy and confident. She is a master mixologist, gifted with a natural ear for music, dividing her time between live performances, and the sanctuary of her recording studio.
Dirty Electro, punctuated by Breakbeat, Funk, Crunk, Industrial and Rock influences, Booty-shaking House and Deep, Minimal Techno, comprise her current repertoire, with roots in Drum & Bass that still influence her today. Syrena creates a unique atmosphere with an uncanny ability to play to the crowd while injecting her own personal freshness. Her infectious energy heightens the experience of any party, be it for the jetsetters at a Nikki Beach club to the dusty masses at Burning Man, to underground warehouse events or elevating style for a FENDI penthouse party. Her client list reads long with lifestyle connoisseurs and culture-savvy entities.
Well respected by the media and the club scene at large, she has been repeatedly recognized as one of LA’s hottest female DJs by the Los Angeles Times, URB, and Mixer, to name a few. She has performed alongside the likes of Starkillers, Mark Lewis, Sandra Collins, Ravin, The Glitch Mob, LTJ Bukem, Nookie, Reid Speed and Louie Vega. She was hand selected by the Viper Room to be the resident DJ for the raucous “Girl On Girl” Tuesdays featuring the best of female bands and DJs. Her entry into the prestigious BPM Magazine Beauty and The Beats contest placed her as a Top 10 runner up, out of hundreds of entries. Asia’s Jade Channel/TVB Network based a reality TV show, on her experiences as a DJ in 2004, and she is currently the subject of a prominent filmmaker’s documentary on LA female DJs.
She is an active supporter of women working in the electronic music industry, as Host and Producer of “The Sweet Spot” a live, interactive web TV show that is a virtual online dance party engaging 20,000+ viewers every episode. Additionally, she is a contributing writer for SheJay.net and founder of Selectress.com, a website to promote her fellow female colleagues.
It is Syrena’s goal to deliver, with her trademark style and grace, a message of inspiration, confidence and passion for the deeper rhythms of life.

SYRENA DJ MIX – “Funkin’ Electro Rock It”:
PLAYLOOP, PEX, Philadelphia/ Los Angeles
Justin Paul is, in a sense, the renaissance man of electronic music. It’s not just that he’s an experienced DJ and producer or because of his successful run as the founder and CEO of Philadelphia, PA based Playloop Records. Rather, Justin Paul is revered more than most other electronic dance music entrepreneurs because he works feverishly to create a vehicle where all electronic dance music genres can share one roof. In years past, it would be considered uncouth to pair artists ranging from techno, house, breaks, drum n’ bass and even dance rock on the same label. However, diversity is at the heart of why Paul’s Playloop Records has seen a meteoric rise in business since the release of it’s critically acclaimed debut label compilation, 2007’s “Get Into The Loop Vol. 1”
With a desire to expand the Playloop repertoire Justin Paul made the bold decision to signelectronic rock act The Model and release its debut CD “Physical” in the Winter of 2009. Already being compared to a cross between U2, Nine Inch nails, INXS, Depeche Mode and The Killers, “Physical” is a stunning debut release filled with numerous hits. A companion remix EP with follow the release of “Physical” and it will feature Playloop’s signature dance floor interpretations of the original tracks.
Justin Paul held his own alongside the heavyweight talents of The Prodigy, Crystal Method, The Disco Biscuits, Thievery Corporation, Snoop Dog, MSTRKFT, Deadmau5 and DJ Shadow, among others.

Lee Mayjahs? represents a new breed of DJ. As possibilities continue to expand and genres multiply, the whole idea of DJing has evolved to a point no one could have predicted. Lee Mayjahs? is not merely a DJ, but rather, an artist who creates an environment through both sound and dynamic imagery. Those who have witnessed a Lee Mayjahs? DJ set will attest that it’s nearly a spiritual experience.
Musically, Mayjahs? was influenced by a blend of New Wave, Hip Hop and Punk Rock. These genres combined with the most upfront 4/4 driven records are what makes up the musical portion of a Lee Mayjahs? set.
However, it was on a 1999 trip to the Nevada desert that Mayjahs? became enamored with the Burning Man scene and its bohemian culture. Mayjahs? witnessed unsupervised desert raves where the only thing that mattered was great music and freedom. This was also a community of people that didn’t fit the stereotypical clubbers that you’d find at hotspots around the world. There was no guestlist or bottle service. Hell, you couldn’t even call these people hardcore dance music fans, per se. They were just music fans. This was a chance to be liberated and part of something special.
Having religiously attended Burning Man since 1999, Mayjahs? became one of the original founders of “The Philadelphia Experiment” (PEX). Essentially, this project brings together people from all lifestyles into one local Philadelphia-based Burning Man community. Growing in numbers exponentially, there are now several huge Philadelphia Experiment parties occurring throughout the year. These events are infamous for marrying solid beat driven music with various performance artists and specially themed attractions. Mayjahs? also spins at various Burning Man related events throughout the country.
Lee Mayjahs? recently aligned himself with critically acclaimed eclectic electronic music label Playloop Records and is currently working in the studio with Smitty, Ross D, King Britt and Playloop Honcho Justin Paul on a full-length debut EP scheduled for release in 2009. One can only imagine what the soundtrack to this artists exciting life will sound like!
